Valencia Basket visits ALBA Berlin in the new European Taronja classic

Valencia Basket men's team will seek to change its recent dynamic after two defeats by facing what will be its fourth game in a period of seven days to visit ALBA Berlin’s court (Thursday 1, 8:00 p.m., Mercedes-Benz Arena, Movistar Deportes 2) in a match that opens round 25 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

 

The Taronja team will face the Berlin team for the 17th time in its European history, a figure that makes the Germans the rival they have faced the most times in their career in continental competitions, tied with Khimki Moscow Region.

 

Within that long tradition that turns this game into the new European taronja classic, Valencia Basket has a good overall record in its visits to Berlin (it has won in four of its six visits) and an immaculate record of precedents in its trips in the Euroleague (it has won in the three games of the maximum continental competition played on this rival's court).

 

Coach Álex Mumbrú maintains the problems in the center position with the absences due to injury of Brandon Davies and Boubacar Touré, and Stefan Jovic is questionable (absent in Tuesday's game in Belgrade due to a bruise on the thigh left).

 

In the absence of the games on round 24 being played today, Wednesday, Valencia Basket currently occupies tenth position in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with a balance of 12-12.
